The Marshal's medallion's glittered under the light of the holograms above them, as she raised her glaive to thunderous applause.

The girl cowered behind her mother.

The sheer veil covering her face blurred the faces of the famed generals as they kneeled before their Marshal, bringing their hands to their hearts as she pinned medallion's to their capes.
She watched the ghostly petals from the plum blossoms above flit to the ground as the girl strained to see from beneath the silken cloth. She reached out to catch a stray one, and retracted her fingers as the hologram passed through them-a manufactured illusion.

"I want to watch the plum blossoms bloom again"
She mused.
