In a strange, twisted, alternate history than what really happened following Mr Wiley becoming the band director of the Blue Mountain Bandits, nothing happened at Camp Bearpaw.
Instead, before the budget cuts and bad decisions, a great fire broke out across the camp after only a few days. Band camp was held at the school for the rest of the week- somewhere Mr. Wiley and all of the band parents were able to be present to fight the school.
Nothing incredible happened that year. Many students graduated and most ended up going to colleges in the nearby area, drawn to the atmosphere of their childhood city... One such student was Clark Winter, gunning for the position of drum major in the failing college marching band. It's just that someone else was going for the spot, too...
