The main character as: A greaser girl named Addison, born into a traveling family. When she was 8 her father was arrested for chasing a kid into the road, and it was all because that kid had hurt Addison. On the way to the police department, the police car he is in gets hit by a tractor traylor, and kills him and the 2 policeman in the car. About 6 years later, her and her mother finally settle into a small house on the East Side of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Along the way she meets Sodapop Curtis, Ponyboy Curtis, Johnny Cade, Dallas Winston, Darrel Curtis, Steve Randle, and Two-Bit Mathews. She later then falls in love with Ponyboy, and doesn't know how to tell him, the year of 1965 was rough for her. She also meets trouble with the Soc's. The richest kids in town, that live on the West Side. Her, Ponyboy, and Johnny end up in trouble when Johnny commits a crime, and they run away in guilt. As they live a few miles from Tulsa, there familys are worried sick, and finally come looking for them. The truth about Addison is released and secrets are revealed.
