17-year-old Kara was an ordinary girl who was constantly picked on at school. As a geek, she was the center of torture town. She was helpless during these brief moments of living hell, until, well, he came along.

Of the three years that Chase Martin has been at this school, Kara was the first girl to catch his eye. Well, first girl that turned out to be a good choice.

When fate finally threw them together, it could not have picked a more gruesome moment. The school jock, also the biggest jerk of the high school world, had chosen that time to be extremely horrible to Kara. She had had a terrible day, with so many hurtful comments, and she just wanted to get home and read a book. To escape into her fantasy world where she wasn't a bullied teenage schoolgirl, but a wizard, a princess, a hero. She was free.

But fate would not let her have that peace until she met him. Until she met Chase. And that meant it would have to do something atrocious-- have Zach, the bully that torment's Kara's dreams-- physically beat her up.
