Sunny lived a moderately happy life. Living with her sister and her father, volunteering at a cafe for her adoptive grandparents. She was happy, having everything she could possibly want. Minus friends. She had plenty of friends in her mind though and that's all that mattered.
Atlas was just a rude stranger who popped into the cafe one morning for a coffee. Until he came back to apologize to Sunny for being rude.
