Then there's Ethan. Cold. Sharp. Untouchable. He's the type to sit in the back of a lecture hall, eyes dark with something unreadable, hands ink-stained from the poetry he swears no one will ever see. He doesn't do small talk. Doesn't do distractions. And he sure as hell doesn't do girls like Avery.

But fate-or a particularly evil professor-doesn't care. They're stuck together, shackled by a project that makes up 40% of their grade. And suddenly, she's in his space, in his head, unraveling him thread by thread.

She calls him boring. He calls her reckless.
She tests his patience. He fuels her fire.
She wants to make him beg. He refuses to break.

But the problem with playing with fire? Someone always gets burned.
