Horsekit has a great reputation. Her mother, Cinderstripe, saved the clan from the Twolegs. You'd be respected too, right? Until she became mute and disfigured. An accident involving a fox, kills her brother, and permanently injures her. Stormstar, the leader, doesn't think that she could become a warrior, what she wanted to be when she was old enough. So he appoints her as the medicine cat apprentice AND a warrior apprentice. He says she has to train in both positions. And she has three moons to train in both, and pass both assessments to chose what she wants to be. If she fails one, Stormstar chooses what her future holds. But training in both ranks isn't easy. It takes a toll on the body, mind, and emotions. So Horsepaw looses friends, gains friends, makes sacrifices, and finds out shocking secrets. An Unofficial Complex Medicine Cat Guide.
We do not own nor claim to own any part of the Warriors series by the Erin Hunter group or any part of the Roblox game Warrior Cats: Ultimate Edition. This is an unofficial guide to medicine cats! We compiled this both for our own use and fun and to post for others to do so too! We've used as many sites as we could and read what we could of the books to base this on, as well as to confirm with real-life sources on certain parts (for example, is so and so poisonous to cats). This has herbs (canon and fanon), practices, procedures, the medicine cat code, unspoken medicine cat rules, even tips on roleplaying, and much more! WITHERING HERBS || A Warriors Fanfiction
A sickness - like a mere case of the chills or a minor whitecough in a patient - is often something a medicine cat can easily fix, with some leafy catmint or perhaps a pawful of feverfew. It is vanquished effortlessly, and the illness is gone. It does not come back unless someone receives it again. But when the Clans have contracted a terrible sickness, StarClan has not answered for moons, and they are losing numbers quickly, nobody knows what to do. The medicine cats have done all they can for their Clanmates, however, nothing has worked. No longer outside the elder's den lay a lazy, gray-muzzled cat. The nursery, ever so faintly smelling of milk, only contains memories of what used to happen in the usually cheery den. The warrior's den only have three or four inhabitants, each of which thinks grimly of the day that the sickness could come upon them. The apprentice's den, in some Clans, has one cat who comes to sleep in it each night, cold and alone. Others are empty, filled with grief for lost futures. Leaf-fall has tumbled upon the Clans. Leaf-bare approaches, peeking over the treetops some mornings. This awful illness has lasted since Green-leaf and, still, with the medicine cats searching every day and the warrior's eyes peeled for it, a cure has not been found. However, each Clan has a reason for StarClan not answering them, and they mostly stick to it. Rising from the Ashes
The four Clans-GrassClan, OakClan, PineClan and WillowClan-have lived in relative balance since the Clans began. They kept separate, save for their Gathering every full moon. While they had their disagreements, they kept a relatively harmonious existence. They had always been four Clans and it was believed that they always would be. For as long as they kept the warrior code alive, the Clans would continue to thrive. That's when the troubles began. One long, hot, dry greenleaf, a fire swept through GrassClan. Some cats were lost but those that survived resumed life in their now scorched territory. They knew that life was going to be harder than ever, but they could not abandon the only home they had ever known. The next couple of seasons, GrassClan struggled to feed themselves with little prey to be found. Yet, they refused to give up. Newleaf found GrassClan weak and starving but with hope on their horizon. Their oldest queen had moved into the nursery. Then, disaster struck a second time. Greencough swept through the Clan, snuffing out the new lives before they had even begun. The dreaded sickness left its mark, stealing the future of the Clan and all hope with it. Life had taken its toll on GrassClan. All that remained were their young leader, their deputy, their elderly medicine cat, one warrior and three elders. They had no apprentices, no she-cats and no kits. The once vibrant Clan was on the brink of dying out. The four Clans would soon be no more. Then, at the next Gathering, StarClan brought a message to the Clans: GrassClan must survive. There had always been four Clans and that could not change. They proposed that volunteers from the other three Clans should join GrassClan to help restore it. Cats were given one moon to consider the offer.
