Detective Kane Elsher was raised by a single mother and pushed into becoming a male model, so his mother could fulfill her dreams. After the murder of his best friend, Kane changed careers and became a cop, moving to the small sea-side town of Whetherwood. 

Two years later, Kane responds to a murder at the town's most famous restaurant, known to celebrities around the country. The only suspect is Claire Demitchell, niece of the establishment's owner. Kane falls for immediately, refusing to believe she had anything to do with the murder.

Claire thinks she is tragically flawed and has a hard time believing anyone could love her. All she wants to do is cook, but her uncle had other plans for her -- including marrying her off to the town's mayor. 

Claire and Kane team up to find the killer before they strike again.
