Lance and Ash are from an ancient tribe of people called The Wenja. they speak a completely different language, and even have different customs to the normal world of Kanto. Never once had the two ever met a Pokemon until they were exiled from their tribe because of the fact that they (Really Just Ash) had ACCIDENTALLY led the Udam, the Wenja's rival tribe, to the town where the Wenja officials - aka their parents - made their home. Since Ash and Lance were 'mates', however, they were exiled together, and left to find new lands to settle in. Very much secluded from the outside world, they had no idea what was waiting for them. Separated from each other via adoption into different families - since, well, you know, they were only kids - they vowed to find each other again. And that is where our story begins.
