Those are the two reasons why hybrids are outcasts, and Esme is no different to such treatment.

With being born as a hybrid was enough of a curse, she was a wolf hybrid, more known to be aggressive and unpredictable, even if evidence proved otherwise.

But such a curse turn into a blessing, with being able to hunt and kill any infected on sight in a matter of seconds, such things both helped the WLF base to have a more regulated numbers of infected near them because of such wolves that used their floreshing hunting grounds and Esme.
