A continuation of the story of Love Like the Galaxy, a Chinese drama starring Zhao Lusi as Cheng Shaosheng and Lu Wei as Ling Buyi. This is my own interpretation of how the story could continue.
As Shaoshang and Buyi marry in Hua Country, they know they will need to face his family when they journey home to spread the news. Knowing the temper of the emperor well, they know he won't be happy and are prepared to face the usual questions and comments. After a grand wedding in the capital, the happy couple started to consider the rest of their life together but will face various challenges before they can finally settle for good.

I am writing another fanfic from that point with a different story arc. Those of you that are not familiar with the universe, can still enjoy this story ( It doesn't necessitate watching the TV Show/Movie for context; although, I highly recommend it) Disclaimers - I am not a native mandarin speaker. The twist- Lan Jingyi, Lan Xichen's son, disappeared the morning of the wedding, a preplanned move to ensure that Lan Wangji, now in his forties, has to step in to marry Jiang Yanli, barely twenty five, to save the Lan family pride. Lan Wangji has been living abroad for over twenty years, for longer than Wei Wuxian's lifetime. Lan Wangji resigns himself to marry someone who was supposed to be his niece in law. But as the doors to the bridal chamber closes, he has to buckle up the courage to reveal the real reason for his bachelorhood and even before Wei Wuxian has time to remove the veil and admit to the duplicity, Lan Wangji blurts out that he is not into women.
