Sure, he enjoyed the finer aspects of it; the money, the wine, the women, but he hated the weight he carried on his shoulders, the weight forced upon him by his mother and grandfather.
When Alicent proposes a betrothal between Aegon and his sister, Helaena, Aegon decides he's finally had enough. The prince manages to convince his mother that a marriage to another house would be politically beneficial for House Targaryen, relieved when she relents.
Then Alysanne Stark and her lady-in-waiting, Elin arrives in the capital. The mischievous, wild-eyed Northerner has a personality that matches her mysterious looks, and Aegon begins to wonder if he got more than he bargained for...
