Tord believes that Edd, Matt and Tom died in the rubble of the house that day, well... He's convinced Tom died after he shot that harpoon, the other two not so much. Tord is in the middle of making war once again, The Red Army and another army that will be revealed later in the book. Unfortunately, Tords mental state has rapidly decreased over the past few months, leading him to locking himself in his office and barely talking to anyone. Not even Paul and Pat. Though, the one time he answers to them, they have amazing news and an idea, and idea that will not only help in the war, but might also help Tord with his mental state. But what is this idea? After 'The End', Edd, Matt, and Tom moved into apartments. After a while, Edd and Matt got closer and shared an apartment to save more money. They won three lotteries, which gave them enough money (with extra) to buy a new house or to rebuild the old one. This all happened in five months, people who knew what happened to them would consider them very lucky. Though they thought that Tord died during the incident, they would think of him from time to time and they would be sad. Especially Tom, whenever he thought about the communist he would try his best to get him off his mind. Though, no matter what he did, he never succeeded. He felt horrible for killing him.
