It is the year 2035. Something in the world of known science has gone seriously wrong on several levels.

'Gates' have opened up across multiple places on Earth amidst rising tensions between the superpowers of this world. From these gates emerged magical beings so similar in appearance to humankind, yet so distant in ability beyond one's superficial analysis.
