I followed the lines and symbols with my finger, tracing their intricate paths until my gaze settled on a word etched at the bottom of the map. It stood out boldly amidst the cartographic intricacy, its meaning shrouded in mystery and possibility.

"Look," I whispered, pointing to the word underneath the map. 

Seraphina's voice trembled with anticipation as she uttered the word "Lumineth...wait doesn't that mean illumination" with unwavering conviction. Instantly, the path on the map began to shimmer and glow, illuminating the way to a hidden place within the school.

Seraphina glanced at me, her eyes wide with a mix of awe and disbelief. "Aurelia, what the fuck did we just do?" she whispered.

In one swift movement of my hand I reached behind Sapphire's neck and released her hair from the low ponytail it was in. She gasped at my action and looked at me with feverish eyes. I thought I saw the colour gold flicker in her eyes, for a few seconds before I lifted my hand near her face and tucked a strand of her wavy hair behind her ear, before I said: "I fell in love with you, the first second I saw you reading that Tolstoy book in the library." She looked up at me, her warm beige skin looked like it was glowing now and she said with pure sincerity in her eyes "per sempre, in ogni dimensione, per sempre in ogni vita, solo tu fino al mio ultimo respiro amore mio" It meant (Forever, in every dimension, forever in every life, only you until my last breath, my love) I snaked my hands around her waist and pulled her close to me. Before kissing her the way I wanted to all this time, i looked into her eyes and said "Me too my love, me too." My first novel is about soulmates. And reincarnation. About, how many bodies a soul has to live in before they finally become their true selves. And before they finally get to be with their soulmate. It's about how love has so many faces. It's about how we never know what roads life will force us to cross. And what emotions we will be gifted to feel. And the things we're blessed with that sometimes we neglect. But my curls were now streaked with highlights. And not the subtle, golden-brown ones that sometimes appeared during the summer. No, these were an aggressive, dazzling blond that went from the roots of my hair all the way to the tips. It looked like I had spent a full day getting my hair done in some upscale salon. Never mind that I had never set foot in such a place since the day I was born. My eyes appeared somehow wider and more luminous. The colour brighter, my eyelashes darker up against them. And, when I looked closely, my pupils seemed to be slitted almost like a cat. I looked down at my body. My skinny arms-which had always refused to gain any definition no matter how hard I exercised-were lined with flat, wiry muscles. My bony shoulders were now curved and smooth. My scrawny legs were toned like a dancer. I reached down and lifted my shirt, revealing two subtle lines running vertically down my perfectly flat stomach, hinting at the rock-hard abs underneath. My whole body was rippling with strength. Like liquid steel.

Five men from different parts of the world tried committing suicide at the exact same time after going through certain hardships and ugly circumstances in their various lives. They were fed up with life and felt that there was no point to continue living. So, suicide was their only option to escape reality. As each of them was about to commit their own form of suicide, a mystical being suddenly appeared individually to them. These beings or entities were also five in number, just like the men. The mystical beings, all wearing long hoodie-type cloths that slightly covered their feet and of many different colors matching their skin tones, proposed a solution to each of the men, telling them that there is a way to change their fate for the better. Each of those men was very much terrified when they encountered these mystical beings, which looked like elves in appearance, but they accepted their offer, which they saw as a chance of changing their fate. The mystical beings did not actually tell them the way to change their fate but opened a rainbow multidimensional portal and all said the same thing, which is "FOLLOW ME IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE YOUR FATE," with a hand gesture signaling "follow me" towards the man they are individually with. These men did not hesitate but followed them through the portal with the mindset that they didn't have anything to lose by doing so, and they saw it as a chance of gaining salvation. In other words, a chance to be saved from their present predicament or situation and being improved or made new circumstantially. Prologue I used to have a nightmare when I was younger. It was always the same order and the same impact. It started with the warmth of sand consuming my feet. I looked up to see a warzone. There were flashes of fire, water, and lightning. It was like a war of the gods. Suddenly I felt the heat on my back. I turned to see neon red and yellow flames consume me. I ran to hide in the bushes that were next to me, feeling out of breath I tried to calm myself down. Strands of dark red hair covered my face. I proceeded to swipe my hair and look at my surroundings. I heard sobbing coming from near me. I trudged through the bushes and toward the sobbing when I got to under a willow tree. "Hey, are you okay?" I asked. I saw a girl with long dark red hair being the cause of the sobbing. She had a huge gash on her forehead with blood trailing down her face. She also had burns on her arms and shirt. The boy was in much worse condition. He was covered in burns, she was covering his face with only his hair showing. They both had the same colored hair. Suddenly my necklace started to glow with an amber color. The girl in front of me had a similar amber glow. Two amber crowns sat on top of the pillow. One female and one male crown sat on top of the pillow. Once I walked closer the glow came back. Once I grabbed the tiara everything became white. I was once again in another room, I attempted to move but I mysteriously couldn't. A neon purple bolt of lightning hit my chest. We both locked eyes with each other. Was that me? Before I could find out, the ground started to be drained into a whole. I was sucked into the drain and everything soon became black and I was free-falling. My back soon hit the ground of the room. I rose to look at the surroundings of the new room I was in. I fell to my knees from the pain. Then a person walked forward and grabbed my face.

Her eyes filled with water. Slowly a small drop came out at the end of her black eyes. Rolling down onto her cheekbone and upon her pale cheek. Dropping to her jaw and slowly on her chin. It quickly fell off into her lap. She was crouching now, her arms around her knees and knees tucked in. Tears started streaming down on her face. Her nose started to run, dropping down onto her lips and past, moving to her chin and off, just like the tears. Falling every millisecond now. The wind blew her hair into her face, making it stick to the water. Sniffling her nose every now and again, Seraphina couldn’t stop herself. She opened her mouth to scream, to yell so her pain would leave but her voice disappeared. Nothing came out. She blamed herself for everything, she could have stopped them, done something to help, but no, she stood there, frozen. She clenched her fists. She grabbed what she could and threw it. But she couldn’t settle down, her heart was too hurt and her mind only made things worse." ~CHAPTER 9 ARTHOURS NOTE: PLEASE READ PAST THE FIRST TWO PAGES, THEY SUCK, THE REST ARE SO MUCH BETTER, PROMISE. its just hard to start a book with an intresting start, please read on even if its boring XD appreciate it.
