Starting a new year at Kimetsu High, a prestigious private academy, Kanao Tsuyuri volunteers for the job of student body president, as she does each year. But an unexpected opponent, the popular school sweetheart Tanjirou Kamado, also volunteered for the role. After a few run ins, there seems to be bad blood between the two students. Kanao refuses to accept defeat, though, and pursues hating the boy from the bakery.

Her friends, teachers, and guardians start getting involved and the two rival campaigns hostility reaches an all time high. Meanwhile, she discovers feelings for her opponent that even she didn't quite understand. With Kanao's future on the line and her refusal to be in a relationship of any kind, love seems impossible between the two. But an intense rivalry can also bring intense feelings.
