It was fresh, the skin that surrounded the vermilion wound was puffy and distended, as if it just happened a few days prior.
"Are you okay?" I asked, my voice colored in the warm tones of concern.
"I'm fine." He answered, flippantly, must I point out.
"How did it happen?" I continued to question. I was aware of how intrusive I was. However, I couldn't help but wonder, and worry.
