A long time ago, there were three gods. They roamed the earth, laughing and drinking and mingling with mortals, creating demigods and quarter-bloodeds, who retained some of their godly powers. The world was bursting at the seams with life and magic and prosperity. But one day, the gods disappeared...

All her life, McKayla had been able to see past the Masquerade. She could see magic and powers and skills that Ordinaries could not. Of course, as she grew older, she was told not to speak of such things, for they didn't exist. Right?

Now, at nineteen years old, she's a detective for a branch of the government that specializes in magic, and those who wield it, solving cases and arresting criminals before they can deal too much damage upon the world. But no matter how fast she runs, she can't escape what happened two years ago, or the memories of the friend she lost.

But when a sparky youngster and a childhood friend/crush that she hadn't seen in years enter her life, she realizes that there's things going on in the world that don't quite make sense. And they concern her....

𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐁𝐋𝐔𝐄 𝐒𝐊𝐘 ~ 𝐀 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐥 𖥔 ࣪ ᥫ᭡ꗃ⋆࣪. Book 1 of Broken and Bound Duet. ≫∘❀♡❀∘≪ He had her caged against the wall. His shadow swallowing hers and eyes glinting with mockery sharp enough to cut. "So desperate that you've actually started studying hard just to get on my level, huh?" His words weren't a question. They were clearly a taunt. She turned her face away, refusing to let him see the storm brewing in her eyes but he wasn't satisfied with silence. He tilted her chin up with a rough coax and asked with a cruel voice,"Answer me, Vika. Itna desperation?" She jerked his hand off, forcing the words past the lump in her throat,"I'm not doing it to get you. I'm doing it to secure myself-" He leaned closer, cutting her off with a poisonous smirk and said,"Oh yeah, right. Secure your future... because you want to marry me, isn't it?" The accusation cracked something inside her. The tears she had been fighting burned hot as they spilled down, betraying the strength she tried so hard to hold. He only smirked wider, watching her crumble as though her breaking was the prize he had been chasing all along. ≫∘❀♡❀∘≪ A story of first love, heartbreak and emotional strength. Like a bolt of lightning, this stupid boy appeared in my life. First day of summer break between first and second grade, he just appeared- standing on my porch like he was born there. Straight brown hair, wide dark eyes and a fresh sunburn across his cheeks. He was already talking before I even opened the door. I don't know how it happened but it's been ten years. And he's still here. Talking, whether or not I'm listening. Laughing, even if no one else is. He's still too quick- racing around the world like he's scared he's going to miss it. He's gotten taller...much taller. His hair is a little longer, a little wavier, but under the light it still looks the same golden brown it did when we were nine. And now, finally, he was a high school graduate. We both were. Like a bolt of lightning he appeared and like the sun he refused to disappear. _____________________________________________ I fell asleep with my chin pointed at him, the outline of his face being the last thing I saw. How was I supposed to do this? It had always been difficult, hiding this secret, keeping him close. But now, my focus was starting to slip. I couldn't see anything but his lips, his hands, his smile. I couldn't hear anything but my name in his mouth, his jagged breaths and that loud laugh. How am I supposed to be okay with this? How am I supposed to focus on anything other than him? #1- slowburn- 11.10.25🥇 #1- friends to lovers- 11.01.25🥇 #1- fluffandsmut- 11.02.25🥇 #1- college- 11.06.25🥇 #1- best friends- 11.12.25🥇 #1- teammates- 12.04.25 🥇 #1- college roommates- 12.30.25🥇 #1- mental health- 01.02.2026 🥇 #1- gay love- 01.02.2026 🥇 #2- roommates- 12.18.25🥈 #3- bxblove- 11.30.25🥉 #4- boyxboy- 11.01.25 #4- lgbt- 11.15.25 #14- boyxboyromance- 12.15.25 #22- basketball- 12.15.25

WARNING: CONTAINING AMOUNTS OF SASS PREVIOUSLY UNKNOWN TO MANKIND In the city of NYC--- Ok. Hold up. First of all, New York City. What, are ya gonna assume everyone here knows what NYC is? Anyway, this is about two people. I can almost hear you rolling your eyes. Another cliché teen fiction with a bad boy and a good girl? Nope. This is about superheroes. I can still hear you rolling your eyes. Superheroes. Like in comic books? Like people with super speed and mutant powers? Yes. But this isn't about the fight they have. More about the lives they lead without the masks. But just keep in mind, people who live in the world have all different skin colours. Do not assume my characters are of one unless I state them explicitly. and diversity is welcome here in my novel! Anyhow, back to the story. Ever wonder where supervillains go after their fight with the hero? What about the other side of the story? It's not like they sit in their lair cackling all day and planning how to kidnap reporters. What about the lives they lead? And instead of just focusing on that, what if the superhero and the supervillain knew each other? I mean, can they see behind the mask? No, so their identities are secret. So what if the hero and villain were best friends? What if they were roommates? What if they were falling for each other? And what happens when they find out? Now, I assume you know all of these questions will be answered in this book. But hold on. It's going to take a while. You're in for a bumpy ride. And if any of you got any of the references in this description, give yourself a pat on the back. That is a beautiful thing. And if you can name all the references in this book, you truly are a gift to mankind. Fangirl out.

Nobody expects something supernatural to happen to them. Those kind of things only happened in comics. Fairy Tales. Unrealistic dreams that you'd fall asleep to, silently wishing for them to come true. At least, that was what these three teenagers thought. It turns out that there is so much more to their simple universe than they ever could have imagined. After each finding a strange alien artifact, the teens are suddenly thrusted into an intergalactic war. Alien species everywhere are trying to hunt down the most powerful weapons in the galaxy. And they are the ones in possession of it. When they run into a girl that claims to be from another planet, the three kids learn about the power given to them and the responsibilities that come along with it. Instantly, they are the most popular people in the galaxy. And for once, popularity couldn't feel more like a curse. Fighting grudges, fear, and distrust, the Chosen humans must travel to the one place on Earth where they might be safe. And with strange new powers, the teenagers struggle to live in the unfamiliar world they thought they knew so well.
