Lenora Whitlock had her whole life planned out since she was 5 years old sitting on the swing next to her best friend Holden. Now she feels like they're actually achieving their plans. They're finally attending Princeton majoring in astronomy together, but it feels like just yesterday they were on those rusty swings at that run down park. Everything was going accordingly but when Holden gets diagnosed with lung cancer she starts to realize some things she never noticed before.

After years of pining over her he would finally show his best friend Lenora how much he liked her. This was his year to win her heart, or it was. His whole world came crashing down as soon as they told him the news. He had lung cancer. He was going to die. Guess Lenora was right when she said his smoking habits would kill him. Now it feels like a race against time to tell Lenora how he feels and to spend as much time with her before he's gone.
