Leo Capro and Jupiter Cloud have been meeting everyday at the park, but only with masks on after meeting each other on Halloween. When the stray cat they feed runs onto a NASA spacecraft ready to go to Mars, they follow him trying to rescue the car but get stuck and go to space with the 3 astronauts that are supposed to live on Mars for 1-2 years.
Leo and Jupiter are not found in the rocket ship until later while in space. The astronauts lose connection with Earth and end up in a different galaxy altogether with unknown planets, not knowing what to do.
