Charlie Emerson had an interesting life. She took care of herself while her mother, Frankie Emerson was off for months at a time for "business". Charlie promised to keep decent grades, maintain living, and do what kids do. Kind of hard to do when you're a single child living at home alone. She's a troubled kid. Picking up habits she probably wouldn't have picked up if there was an actual adult present in her life but come to find out those habits were the same ones her mother had.

Frankie Emerson loves her kid. Would do anything and everything for Charlie. She tried to make the most out of everything and tried to make things easy for her kid but being away for so long and not talking to your kid for months at a time, can damage a relationship more than anything. Especially when secrets of the family are all spread out on the line...
