The title and cover of this book might fool you with its horror/thriller look, but it's actually the complete opposite. This book focuses on the harsh reality of high school and the struggles that teens face, instead of the musical one that TV lied to us about.

But it's not harsh enough to make you think that high school is terrible and the absolute worst years of our lives, no, no, no.

Instead, it's a heartfelt story with moments of love, laughter, drama, anger, heartbreak, and most importantly, friendship. This book will show you that even in our most terrible moments, the people that we care most in our lives will be able to help us overcome it.

Ever since they met, every moment in their lives features them being together. Nothing has ever broken them apart, and now they're ready to start the next chapter of their lives: high school.

But things are different. As the group deals with bullies, drama, toxic people and more, they quickly realize high school is not what they thought it would be, especially with the pact that they have to follow.

But as long as they stick together, as long as they support each other, they can get through this. Right?

Growing Pains

79 parts Complete

In the day-to-day trenches of high school, it is almost the default-setting to believe we are the main character of our own coming-of-age story. This is not wrong. It's just ours isn't the only story there is. The jocks, the nerds, the cheerleaders, the losers, the stoners, the fangirls, the skaters. Everyone's the realest most important person in existence, all of them, at the same time, first-person narrators to their own stories, stumbling into each other's plot lines, defying the status-quo, catalysts to ups and downs. A deconstruction of all the high school tropes and cliches written over the years, a deep-dive into the psyche of students trying to finish high school while going through irrevocable self-discovery, the most improbable of connections, and the insufferable pains of growing up.
