After the war with Alvarez, Wendy hoped that things would go back to normal. But just as things were calming down, she gets sucked into a vortex and taken to a place called "The Land of Departure." There, she meets Terra, Aqua, Ventus, and Chirithy, who use special weapons called "Keyblades" to maintain the balance of light and darkness. As she searches for a way home, Wendy and her new friends discover that an ancient evil has been unleashed and is determined to conquer not only all the worlds, but also plunge the universe into total darkness.
