Drowning Utopia, a thrilling steampunk adventure novel, follows the remarkable journey of Tessa Copperfield, an inventor and part-time thief seeking redemption in a world of deception and betrayal.

After years of struggling to rebuild her life in the circus, Tessa receives a surprising invitation from her ex-partner, Gray Meriwether, to attend the opening of the Grand Spire in the "City of Tomorrow." Torn between closure and skepticism about Gray's intentions, Tessa reluctantly agrees to attend, but not before embarking on a final heist with her circus family, led by enigmatic Marcus.

The heist takes Tessa back to her old university, where she must steal a secret formula from Professor Lithwick Cornwall. Driven by loyalty to her circus family and needing to repay a debt to a ruthless crime lord known as The Count, Tessa hesitates to steal from her former teacher and friend.

Arriving at the Grand Spire, Tessa is fascinated and infuriated by the stolen inventions that now populate the city, a testament to her brilliance but devoid of any recognition. During the festivities, Tessa encounters a masked stranger named Lady Viloria, who cryptically warns her to watch her back.
