Wei Ying lost his parents on his way to Cloud Recesses when he was five. Since then, he has lived in a cave behind a waterfall near where his parents died.
It has been now eight years since he lived there. He has learned everything from healing to cultivation. One day, he meets some Lan disciples who are injured. One of them happens to be Lan Wangji. Seeing them, he has to make a choice.
Will he help them? Will he leave them to die? What will happen if he does help them?
