Snippets of alternate outcomes in the lives and enduring love story of Can Divit and Sanem Aydin.

When I started out with this story, I only intended to loosely base the 'short piece' on the events in Bolum (Episodes) 17 & 18 however, I got such positive feedback, I decided to stretch it out a bit. I'm still unsure how far I will stretch it but so far, I'm enjoying writing it and will keep going till I run out of steam.

I can't think of any show/movie that I've watched in recent times to which I have reacted as I did when I watched Erkenci Kuş. The characters hooked their claws into me and wouldn't let go.

I rooted for Sanem and Can; cried and laughed with them; railed at and cursed their detractors and finally rejoiced over their reunion. However, the ending was so rushed. After all the angst we were put through with their relationship, I felt robbed of an extended happily-ever-after. What we were given was too short. 

I hope to right that wrong, amongst others, with this story.

Though I only watched the show in Jan/Feb 2023, I have since rewatched it countless times.

There were certain parts of the plot which wound me up so much so this is me writing what I wished had happened.

A story about how so many people underestimated Sanem, because of her upbringing, even Can. Just because a person is shy, respectful, and not pushy, this should not be evaluated as not smart and looked down on! I wanted Can to show his smarts, and realize his attitude with all the women, the show threw in front of Sanem. I did not like Can's arrogance with the women. As you will be able to tell, I did not like any of them at all, especially Polen. A lot of the time, it was just degrading, how everyone treated the character Sanem. I wanted Sanem and Can to be in love, but equal. I also, felt like Huma, was just evil, but why? She was the mother of two adult men, why be so mean? So I made her a little different, she still thinks she is better, but not! I also, did not like the way Sanem's parent's went from friendly to not, then forgave Leyla and Emre overnight, but never ever understood Sanem and Can. I am not a writer, have no connection with the actors, production staff, or anyone else with Erkenci Kus. I am just a fan. Any mistakes, misspellings, long boring chapters or story are all on me. Sanem is a young girl who lost her parents in a car accident. Sanem and Leyla Sanem's sister, lived with their aunt and uncle for a couple of years but it was time for them to go on their own. It was hard leaving, but fate had plans for the sisters. Can Divit, is a world renowned photographer, comes from a wealthy family. He's kind of a wild card, but has a heart of gold. But doesn't like to show it. His brother Emre works in the family business, but Can is happy doing what he does best. But his father wants him to settle into the business. But Can still wants to travel, but who knows what the future holds.

But her father has different plans when she reaches the age of 18 in a few days. On the upper side if the more elite, you have the divits, father azis, eldest son Can and younger Son Emre. Sanem lost her parents and older sister in a car accident when she was only eight. Mirhiban, the wife of Aziz Divit, the owner of the hotel where Sanem's father had been the manager until the moment he passed away, was a very loving and endearing woman; her heart almost broke when she found out about the little girl left behind and quickly organized for her to stay with her and her family. Her own sons, Can and Emre, were already teenagers; Can was a sweet sixteener and Emre...a grouchy fourteener, so a little girl to take care of was just what she needed. From the moment Can met this...tiny but so beautiful little girl with her big, dark deer eyes, he felt a very special bond between them. Mirhiban felt it too and happily noticed that Sanem trusted her eldest son ever since. Can spent all the time he could with 'his little babygirl' and helped her get through the loss of her own family. But both of them would grow up into adults, and...what about that 'special bond' between the sweet sixteener and that so tiny and beautiful little girl when that happens..? A bit of a different story as I currently have lost my mojo for the serie EK. I am super upset about the cheap soap opera plot of Can losing his memory; well Sanem only which is even more ridiculous. I just cannot believe the writers come up with such dumb plot and waste opportunities for good ones by making Yigit go with a letter?!? WTH?? They built his character to be obsessed and he just sends her a letter??? What a waste, there could have been a great drama and Can saving Sanem. Same with Huma, there could have been a really emotional episode if Can had known what she had done. He still thinks Yigit is disabled because of him?!?!? So again why were these plots buried and replaced by some amnesia story. It annoys me because amnesia is such a famous soap opera plot that comedians when making fun of soap operas use this story, like in Friends, I believe Joe wakes up with amnesia in his soap... Based on the trailers, Sanem is going back to being silly and humiliated by the writers which is the reason I already stopped watching around episode 20 for a while. I have very little hope the 2 new writers, both males, will bring better plots. However, I still love the passionate couple that Sanem and Can form so I want to keep writing about them. Sorry I was so passionate above but I am deeply disappointed. This story starts at a book convention where Sanem represents her successful book and Can his own. They meet...

Erkenci Kus- Remember Love by MOKenyan

Following a terrible accident, Can Divit loses his memory. He wakes up and there is a stranger beside his bed, Sanem, her eyes full of love and hope. Hope that he crushes in an instant when he asks "Who are you?" Two years of his life disappeared, he tries to reconcile with the man he woke up as and the man Sanem loves. However, he can't ever imagine giving up his freedom for love. So is his amnesia a blessing in disguise, a way to claim back his life and love of freedom or an error he has to correct. A clash between two men in one body. Sanem's Can, who would give up everything for his love. The one ready to get married, settle down and start a family. Can Divit, the lonely Albatross who values his freedom above all, dedicated to his camera and spreading his wings discovering all corners of the world. Falling in love with Sanem isn't the problem, the question is will she accept this version of him. Or will she choose the memories of the past over the new memories they could create together. How does Sanem cope with these two men? Will she fight to get her Can back or try to understand the Albatross a little better. She is sure of only one thing, whoever he is today she will always love him. Her Can or the new Can. Sanem has to decide whether or not she is ready to go down the path of new discovery with the Can who doesn't remember her. However, the memories of their past love are so important than her, maybe too important. Will she stick around or save herself the heartache. The story will begin as an intercept between episode 46 and 47 then pick up at episode 51 before the reunion. Enjoy!
