In the shadows of space, humanity's last hope travels aboard the Eden spacecraft, searching for a new home among the stars. Among them is Avery, a young woman haunted by the ghosts of war and loss, who finds herself at the center of a daring mission-the Aurora mission. The target? An unknown planet, full of mysteries and promises. But nothing is as it seems. Upon landing, they discover a lost alien civilization, frozen in time, venerating the artifacts of an ancient race that vanished without a trace. As Avery delves into the culture and history of these strange beings, she encounters an unexpected ally-a native who offers her a new perspective on life, war, and the truth about her own past. Yet, as dark secrets come to light, Avery begins to question everything she thought she knew. A web of lies surrounds the Aurora mission, and a sinister connection between the vanished ancestral race and the fate of Earth emerges. On the verge of a discovery that could alter the course of two civilizations, Avery faces a terrible dilemma. Can she bear the burden of two races, or will the attempt to save humanity lead to her downfall? In a universe full of uncertainties, one thing is certain: Avery's journey will define the dawn of a new world or the twilight of humanity.

In the distant future of the 28th century, mankind survived near extinction and made it into the wider galaxy, with almost no other sapient life in the milky way to stop humanity's expansion. Space was ripe for the pickings. Now mankind and the enigmatic Voidrians formed the U.S.S.A. (the United Solar Systems Alliance). Before mankind became the dominant force in the Milky Way, Earth was in shambles --- natural resources were nearly depleted, disease was rampant and most of Earth's population was in poverty. Then by some miracle of discovery or a cruel cosmic joke, in the early 23rd century, when all humanity could do was go out into space to search for a new home, a small planet that was black as the void around it was discovered. The humans who landed on the little planet had nearly lost all hope until they stumbled upon unknown ancient ruins beneath the planet's surface where they discovered untold amounts of bizarre advanced technology. Earth and humanity were saved. The little planet that was to thank for their salvation was named Umbra. Corporal Damien Kurosawa, a marine for the U.S.S.A., and his girlfriend, Alice, are hired to work aboard the famous transport ship that saved humanity, the U.S.S.A Umbra. But over the coming days, strange phenomena unleash out into mind-bending chaos that will push and break everyone's mental and physical limits, the likes of which no human has ever experienced or...survived.
