Mariela Fonseca Dominguez never learned to swim. She would stand at the edge and peer into the depths, scared of what might lurk below the surface. Instead, she watched from the shore as others lived out their lives without the same fear of the water. Mariela has spent the last year feeling like she's drowning. She can't tread water anymore, and breathing has started feeling like a chore. After moving home to New Orleans from Los Angeles, she starts to follow someone's siren song.

WARNING: this is is the Ruby version of my other story, Somnia (the Scrim version). I've changed some key details, but a lot of the writing will the same and the plot will still follow the same general storyline. This is actually the original storyline I wrote beginning in 2020, before I changed it last minute when I posted it. I posted this for those who might enjoy a Ruby version ;)

This is still written in second person, from Mariela's perspective.

Just as with my Scrim stories, sentimental Ruby is here!!! Too many stories of them being literal terrorists and domestic ab*sers (I'M NOT HATING I LOVE ALL THE STORIES) but I think Ruby is very sensitive and in touch with his emotions, although not always able to express them, but he'll do anything for his girl so sorry to all the evil Ruby fans but we stan emotive $uicideboy$

I have all of this prewritten, so expect regular updates!
