My entire body felt on fire under his intense gaze. I tried my best to avoid eye contact as he towered over me, but once my eyes met his, the usual amber color of his orbs went darker and darker until they were now of a fervent brown shade and his pupils dilated drastically. The sight shocked me, causing goosebumps to rise all across my arms as electricity shot up my spine and my stomach erupted not in butterflies, but rather, I'd say in pterodactyls. My name is Kara Danvers. When I was 13, I lost my parents in a tragic lab accident, but I was lucky enough to be adopted by the Danvers family.
