How liberty will be remembered
By james a. galgano
From towering tree limbs cavorting with the dead of night
Dangles from man made vine a lifeless shadow in clear view.
Beneath gathering storm clouds offering no rain or tears shed
Swinging in the wind to and fro from where laughter is heard.
Echoing through the forest of leafless trees offering no redemption
Days will pass before the corpse is found where expressionless it lingered.
To be laid in unmarked grave beneath the unwelcoming from whence found
Where at long last shadows will be put finally to rest without thought or sound
Without crimes forgiven or evidence to uncover why such incident occurred
Often there needs no explanation made or story to be told by moonless night
Soon time will pass, and all is forgotten, as time will soon erase all signs unsaved
But by those thoughtlessly imagined and responsible never caught or forgave
