The story follows Jay, a cop, and Hailey, a forensic scientist, as they work together to solve crimes. Hailey is considering moving to a new city to become a detective, which would mean leaving Jay behind. Jay is supportive of Hailey's career aspirations, but he is also sad at the thought of losing her. As they continue to work together, they become closer and closer, and they begin to realize that they might have a future together.
The book is a thrilling crime novel with a romantic twist. It explores the complexities of a workplace romance and the challenges that come with balancing personal and professional lives. The story is also a meditation on the nature of justice and the importance of working together to solve problems.
