In the beginning, there was a king, a servant, and an enchantress. Before the beginning had begun, there was a beautiful place of many wonders. The trees were those of forests depicted in fairy tales. Dark green leaves with vines dropped down to the long grass. Wildflowers of every color painted the forest floors. The sky was full of clouds in the shape of strange mystical creatures. Beautiful statues and carvings were maintained with care. Before the beginning, it was better. Well-constructed towns once surrounded the beautiful temple of Rukk and the people sang for the Gods' wonderful givings. The place is now burnt to a crisp and grey filled the once beautiful skies. The decorated wood and statues were now either covered in overgrown weeds and moss or simply cut into non-existent pieces. The towns were now abandoned with only the silent whistle of the wind, and the temple no longer standing. So, the beginning has now begun.

I was born to wear a crown but never to choose my own fate. They say the trials are tradition. That six princes fighting for my hand is how peace is kept. But I know better. These halls reek of secrets. My father won't meet my eyes, and my future is being bartered behind closed doors. And then he arrived. Prince Malric. The dark one. The uninvited one. The one whose kingdom was never supposed to exist. The moment I met him, I knew: the danger isn't the trials... it's the truth no one dares to speak. They want me silent. Obedient. Married off like a pawn on a game board. But I've never been good at playing by the rules. So if they won't tell me what he's really here for, I'll find out myself. Even if it means sneaking through shadows, breaking royal law, or letting my heart betray me. Let them try to control me. I am not a prize.
