A better, corrected version of this story can be found on Archive Of Our Own as "Of Citrus and fig" by IcyVenom. Kazuha always thought of herself as a Beta. Predictable. Calm. Sensible. Until her own body decided it needed a change. Presenting as an Alpha in her twenties wasn't part of the plan-neither was going into rut while emotionally attached to the only Omega willing to help her through it. Yunjin, sweet as figs and twice as dangerous, is the only one who can ease the ache. But proximity breeds tension, and Kazuha is running out of control. What follows is a haze of stolen moments that blur the line between care and craving.

In a world ruled by hierarchy, freedom is the most dangerous crime. Alphas lead. Betas balance. Omegas obey. That is the law. Packs are sanctioned only when they adhere to the rigid order, and anyone who dares to live outside it is branded a threat. Lone Omegas, especially, are called feral-stripped of rights, driven into exile, or forced into bonds they never chose. Seonghwa has endured that exile for years. Hidden deep within the forests, he has built a fragile solitude, surviving in silence and secrecy. He knows better than to trust anyone, least of all an Alpha. But when an Alpha stumbles into his territory-injured, separated from his pack, and too weak to leave-Seonghwa is forced into a dangerous choice. Turn him away, and keep his carefully guarded world intact. Or take him in, risking everything for the presence of someone who he should ignore.
