Two neighboring clans. A raging war. Amidst the threat of defeat, the matriarch proposes a truce by marrying her daughter to the enemy clan.

However, the princess suddenly dies before the marriage ceremony. The matriarch forces Luwen, an orphan, to take her place. With the use of dark magic, they transfer her soul into the princess's body and she marries the successor of the enemy clan. 

The star-crossed couple soon encounters dangerous situations where they must rely on each other to survive. What happens when a fake marriage becomes real and Luwen falls in love with the vengeful prince who wants to destroy her clan? Can she escape the hands of the evil matriarch who has control over her life, or will she abide by her orders to kill her husband?
