One day, Alfred had mistakenly left his journal in the meeting room. He had left his stuff behind due to an emergency back at his home, and so; the remaining nations were appalled at finding something that he'd been writing in.
And unfortunately, curiosity killed the cat. Many of the others began to read the pages, which led them all to realize that Alfred was a whole lot different than what they'd thought he'd be, for being the personification of the United States.
Several twists and turns begin to crumble, as a hidden secret between Arthur, Matthew, and Alfred comes to light. While Matthew descends into mental chaos- the rest of the nations manage to take back the journal, only to find out some horrible secrets the American has about them.

America is the loud, obnoxious, immature nation the countries know, right? But what if he wasn't? What secrets surface after a more than odd call shoves the crew of nations into a side of America most have never seen. Dear Diary (Hetalia human/college AU)
Human AU Alfred is finally going to college and he decides to start writing his diary again. But he is in love with an older man, Ivan who has been married for 3 years. Matthew, Alfred's brother goes to college in Canada, and starts to distance himself more and more from his family and things between Francis and Arthur, Alfred and Matthew's divorced parents get tense again. The only person that Alfred can now find comfort in is his roommate Kiku, who has his own problems. Alfred navigates love and friendship and family drama by writing in his diary and listening to music, because sometimes it's better to escape your own reality instead of coming face to face with your actual problems. Cross posting this from ao3 (my ao3 user is STRRGRRL btw, I updtade this fic faster on there.) I expect that you guys know the human names of the main eight, but I will add the other human names of the side characters at the beginning of each chapter.

A selected bundle of nations is gathered after a mysterious letter involving America shows up at their door. No Ships! i do be cringing at this very hard but I'll keep it up for y'all. note that the quality is very questionable and like most people i've reflected on the cringiness <3 The Ancients saw many of their children and grandchildren suffering alone, no one noticing the other's pain. The fake mask, the 'happy' countries wore. The secrets they all hid. The Ancients couldn't let this just happen, they came up with a plan. America was the unfortunate victim and test subject. America is the happy, joyful, always smiling, and loud country, but what if everything they know about him is a lie? A mask no one could see through. The mask no one tried to look through. There was a lot they didn't know about him. A lot he hid from them. A lot he kept inside his cracking heart. Secrets will be spilled, and skeletons will come out of the closet. Feelings kept inside for so long, will come out. The sides of America they never knew of will come out today. The mask will come off today. The mask that's been worn for so long. Will he be saved? What happened to America? Who is America really? How many lies have been told? How many hearts will be broken? Did they ever know America at all? How many friendships will be built, and how many destroyed? How long has America deceived them all? How will they see America now? Will America come out of this better or worse? {STORY DISCONTINUED and I'm probably never gonna finish it whoops} The world is ending, obviously. America never really paid attention to the news, only Good Morning America, of course, but when the flooding and crippling storms started in the south and worked their way to D.C., he got nervous. There were warnings, scientists predicted the amount of blah, blah, science, science, random crap, big words. . . World catastrophe. The Storm. Bunkers and shelters were built, supplies were stocked, factories and farmers worked around the clock before the Storm could hit them. One might think the United States was prepping for war, and in a way, they were. They had to fight for their lives. Alfred is alone in a bunker, panicking for his people and brothers and the rest of the countries like Japan and Germany. He hears a distant muffled sound above the howling winds, a frightened little boy sits in the corner with an old stuffed bunny sucking his thumb. No one notices him. How is America supposed to protect hundreds of people and himself against a storm that could kill people in a number of ways? And now a kid had moved him to become his caretaker. When Alfred became independent from England, France had muttered to him that he didn't know the pain of raising a child then losing it. But know, he assumes that he may just learn.
