"you do realize i'm in the middle of studying for a chemistry final, right?" i deadpanned, barely glancing up from my laptop. "you think i'd be scared of you? please. who in their right mind would be? you're just another cliché bad boy who doesn't watch where he's going. i've had nightmares about chemistry-trust me, you don't even come close."
the coffee shop fell eerily silent.
gasps rippled through the crowd as he stepped closer, his smirk deepening, amusement dancing in his silver eyes. the employees stiffened, exchanging nervous glances, but i remained firmly planted in my seat, more concerned about my gpa than whatever stunt he thought he was pulling.
he finally slid into the chair beside me, completely unbothered, pushing my study guides aside like they were nothing more than loose scraps of paper.
everyone around us knew exactly who he was. but i didn't care.
the only thing that could shake me to my core was an f-minus in this godforsaken class.
then, with an infuriatingly smooth tone, he murmured, "you're an enigma, and I need to know more about you. what do you say-study date?"
my fingers froze over my keyboard.
i blinked, my gaze finally meeting his. those silver eyes locked onto mine, sharp and assessing, like i was some kind of puzzle he was desperate to solve.
i narrowed my eyes. "since when did you have the brains to ask me on a study date for a chem final?"
his smirk widened. "since now."
i hated the way my heart stuttered.

"Breath." He orders. I start to breathe again and just blink at him. "Now go." He orders me again. I flinch involuntarily at his tone and jump back slightly. "Please don't let me walk home alone." I beg in a quiet voice, looking down at my feet. The next thing I see are his black combat boots right in front of my shoes. I look up into his eyes and he looks down into mine confusion written all over his face. "How come you aren't running yet?" He questions searching my eyes.
