The ICC World Test Championship (WTC) is a tournament organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to determine the top-ranked Test cricket team in the world. The inaugural edition of the ICC World Test Championship started in August 2019 and concluded in June 2021.The tournament involved the top nine Test-playing nations competing in a series of Test matches over a two-year period. Each team played a total of six series, with three series at home and three away. The matches had different point allocations based on their significance, such as bilateral series and matches against higher-ranked teams.After the conclusion of the league phase, the top two teams on the points table qualified for the final, which was a one-off Test match held at a neutral venue. The final of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship was held at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton, England, in June 2021.India and New Zealand qualified for the final, with New Zealand emerging as the winners.
