The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb. At least, that's how Athena Flynn sees it. She would die for the people she loves. But the list of people she loves is short, and among them is one of the greatest Dark Wizards in the world.

Theodora Smith has a past. One she doesn't want anyone to know. She just wants to move on, live her second chance. But it gets harder when her oldest friend becomes suspicious, and Hogwarts' four troublemakers begin to take notice of her mysterious disappearances.

Fable Reid is a simple reporter for the Daily Prophet, who is thrown suddenly into the memories of an old friend. Working to untangle the story of Athena Flynn and Theodora Smith being strung before her eyes, she struggles to fit the things she is being shown into the history she has been taught.

This story is cannon compliant to only the original 7 books. Not to anything else. It won't seem like it at first, but bear with me ^^. Think of this as my substitution for the Fantastic Beasts story line. My own imaginings of how the first Dark Wizard rose and fell.
