After the previous Death Empress dies in a tragic accident, young Nimue is snatched from her small fire worshipping tribe to train for a chance to become her replacement. With no home to return to, she can only hope to survive as long as possible when the infighting begins. The boat is rocked when she forms an unlikely alliance with Raliene, another of the ten possible future emperors, whose religious fervor drives her every decision. Neither one could win without the other, but neither can succeed while the other remains.

Are they each other's biggest enemies, greatest allies, or is the paranoia self-sabotaging?

For citizens of L'Trithia, or anyone who exists in the hell that is Haerthica, is rough. Unless you're apart of any royal family or the child of a goverment leader. For Shromzie, an immigrant from Rozenia, it is rough. Being a Dremthin was bad enough, they are deemed as manipulative and untrustworthy because who knows if they're mind controlling you or not. But, because Shromzie wasn't born in L'Trithia, she's more of an outcast, even though she was born powerless. But Shromzie and her two friends Uranus and Sinclair get hope that things could change in at least L'Trithia when they become aquantied with Bear, who is the prince of L'Trithia. He dreams to rule a country that prospers because of it's equality and freedom, something that seems so far away, can be grasped by anyone. That is until he stopped helping the cause he and his new friends fought hard for, just when they were so close to getting it. The world of Haerthica isn't the only place that is suffering because of it's rule, in the world of Egovo, there is a small island of Ivan, known for it's odd name and odd goverment. The island is independent and isn't really known as it's own country but it isn't owned by one. Somehow, it's three leader system works. The president, the Vice (just Vice), and the Counselor. Cassidy Lafayette, a mouthful of a name, is a teenage girl whose is wildly unaware of how bad her home really is. She is the daughter of Counselor Lafayette and is very popular in her school. One day, a girl showed up, shocking the whole island into a panic and disarray. They go on lockdown and Cassidy takes it upon herself to learn about what she is and why people are afraid of her. But, she bites off more than she chew and ends up in a problem she can't run away and hide from. ~ "Fuck, Cassidy." Shromzie sighed, a hand going through her hair. "You should have just stayed away, why didn't you stay away?"

Renouncing the Emperor's Heart

"I no longer want you." Emperor Richard de Tristaine fumed as he looked upon the woman he was ready to abandon just a few weeks ago. "You don't mean that," he gritted out through clenched teeth. Empress Jovine smirked at the look on her husband's face. For months, he had neglected her, trading empty words of affection to placate her yearning heart, then leaving to find company in the arms of another woman. But now, she was done with it all. Done with him. "I mean every word, Your Majesty." ---- After dying an unjust death at the hands of her husband's mistress, Empress Jovine de Tristaine finds herself transported back to the past. With a burning hatred for the Emperor who discarded her and the woman who shattered her marriage, the changed Empress vows revenge. However, mysterious gaps in her memory and newfound knowledge of a corrupt political scheme within the Empire cause her to question her loyalties and the reason behind her husband's betrayal. Not only that, evidence of magic from legends as old as time, the Emperor's unexpected obsession with his wife's sudden change of heart, and a new suitor set on winning over the Empress's heart, lead her down a path of warring emotions, conflict, and power. Will she triumph in her quest for revenge, or is fate an inevitable course?
