Lies and Promises

How could a man rebuild the broken trust that was built over many years just for that one lie that happened in one night? It was not just any lie, but one that could shatter the essence of their marriage. Just one lie, but everything was questionable. The laughter, the tears, the late-night whispers, and everything they shared over the times they were together.
All the acts were planned. And she fell for the bait that he laid.
However, secrets will not always be a secret. As the times went by, someone dug his hole that he buried a long time ago, and it was the start to unravel his secret.
His image as a perfect and ideal husband to his wife shattered.
What would she do when she found out the truth? Would she stay and forgive him to save their marriage and start a new life? Or she would give up the years they had; she would no longer be blinded anymore for his lying love.
He did not know, and that made him terrified the most because if that happens, he'll lose everything he worked for just for him to have her, including the fruit of that one night-their son.
