The Source - The Multigenre Mashup Smackdown 2023

Over 2000 years have passed since the Great Wall was built to keep those deserving (or rich) safe from a zombie hoard. Histories have been rewritten and beliefs have changed. When the wall is torn down, a war erupts, causing the horrific deaths of thousands.

From the Inside, one ordinary man is sent on a quest to discover the source of the zombie infection. In the Outside, a very special boy, along with his Gargoyle, is tasked with the same by the enigmatic Toymaster.

And a witch, dead, must unite them both.

These strangers must face fields of death, spirits, silent warriors and the undead to unite their two worlds. Can any of them be the true hero they need to be?

The Source follows on almost 3000 years after the events of HERO, where Thomas is the only boy in a world of superpowers who has none... ANd HERO is the spiritual successor to Cell, where a trapped man with no identity or memory, becomes the spark for a new future.

The Multigenre Mashup Smackdown, hosted by @LayethTheSmackDown, is a writing chalenge aimed at Wattpad writers of all genres, and features a variety of prompts for flash fiction and short stories.
