"Alyssa Potter? The ugly girl with the glasses? That will be funny."
Shortly before being murdered, James and Lily Potter adopted a little girl from Egypt. Alyssa. When Harry was 11 years old, he received the letter from Hogwarts, but Alyssa did not, as she was apparently a Muggle and thus was left alone with the Dursleys. While Harry found friends, experienced adventures, and was happy for the first time, shy Alyssa suffered without her better half. She was insecure, bullied at school, and very unhappy with herself.
In the summer before her fourth year, everything suddenly changed; she received her letter after a small accident and was then supposed to enter the same school year as Harry. The summer vacation had changed Alyssa, and she was no longer the same, but she had not expected all the new attention. Especially not with all the secrets of the magical world and herself.
