Y/n L/n, a med-student to be! Ready to graduate and be on her way to med school to become a general surgeon, but her dreams come crashing down when she's called into the school counselors office. . . "They really won't let you graduate?" Jules, Y/n's best friend since diapers, asked her and Y/n sighed as she picked at her lunch, "All because of one measly credit." Y/n slammed down the plastic fork, causing a few looks from the surrounding tables. Just before lunch ended the school counselor came up with Y/n's new schedule and wished her luck, "What's your new class?" Jules asked as she looked over Y/n's shoulder to peek at her schedule, Y/n scoffed, "Film class? are you serious?!" Y/n crumpled up the paper and angrily stuffed it into her bag, the bell rang they picked up their lunches. "I didn't even know we had a film class." Jules tossed her lunch and so did Y/n, together they walked to Algebra 2 and joked about how awful the rest of the year was going to be. If only Y/n knew that one missing credit, would change her entire life.

You thought your phone was broken when it read nine-forty-three in the morning while it was pitch black outside. One look at social media gave you all the information you needed to know what was happening. The sun was gone. Everywhere, in every state, city, country. Not only that, but people were making up all kinds of excuses for why it was missing. Yet, with each hour that passed, it kept worsening. People began looting in major cities, creating mobs to rush important buildings or block off busy roads. You, living in a semi-large city, could hear the sounds from afar; until those sounds turned to screaming, yelling, running. There were things out there. Things that wanted to hurt you. People that wanted to hurt you. Will daybreak ever come again? Or was this new, apocalyptic setting forever your new reality? ...And why did a masked, bloodied, man just break into your bathroom? ORIGINALLY POSTED ON QUOTEV.
