Awaiting what might never be.
By james a. galgano

The world crowds inside this lonely room where there is nowhere to breathe.
Life bursts through the door offering hopes and dreams which never come true.
Who are we to hope and wonder if such aspirations will ever show themselves to be truthful at long last?
While one remains captive by this lonely heart far from your hopeful delight
Tomorrow such an awful word with promises made but never kept.
Here upon this empty bed where I lay my shattered soul to rest.
Awaiting one reply from you which one day you confess
Your precious love might at long last be true and pass the test.
There within this hopeful heart I wait and at long last long to forever be.
Within the heavenly embrace of your offered love now for all eternity
While the world crowds into this lonely room where I sit now seemingly forever alone
A prisoner of life and love awaiting one truthful embrace by message or from phone
