The late autumn of 1770, in a town surrounded by cornfields and a dark green forest, with a castle sitting on top of the nearest hill, watching over the inhabitants of the village with an intimidating presence. But not everything is as peaceful as it seems. A few harmless appearing individuals are leading a crime-governed life. James Ansley and Rebecca Aberforth amongst those that prefer an adrenaline filled life over one adorned by faith and holy spirits. Together with their group they spend long nights plotting how to rid the rich of some of their heavy wealth. When a young man appears in James' life, bringing much more trouble with him than anyone would like, James willpower is going to be put to the test. Opposite of those barbaric living criminals is the wealthy youth of the current generation. Acklin Haleway, youngest member of a rich family of merchants, has just become of age and - very aware of his preferences - might find himself confront with what people call: A bond bound to break. And what will happen if those completely opposite yet somehow overlapping lives begin to spiral in a way no one could foresee?
