In a world not so different from our own, a child is born. This child has a name, like many who read this. The child's name is Akifumi Senzaki. Life seems to go well for Akifumi, his parents are well renowned heroes and protectors of the village.  But one day in Akifumi's youth his parents seemingly turn tail and become corrupt and begin to abuse Akifumi and neglect him. 

 Akifumi was not born with a special ability known as a 'Current' like most other children, so he believes that to be the reason that he is abused. Akifumi is forced to live in the basement, but one day a special ability like no other chooses him.

In an alternate timeline, the human race found a way to create superpowers. By extracting energy from stars and inserting that energy into humans, 'powers' were created. Powers allowed humans to gain unnatural abilities such as flight, invisibility, super strength or in other words, superpowers. Using what remained of the power technology, the Gazers singlehandedly perished the evil and ended the conflict. However, there was a price to pay. Powers put a toll on the human body and had serious mental and physical repercussions. The solution was to recruit children from the age of 13 to 18 and train them so their bodies would adapt to their powers, eventually becoming immune to all negative side effects. The end of the Cosmic Wars brought forth a new age of peace and prosperity that the world had never seen before.
