Slightly faded, the wooden walls for the homes of the village folk were outdated, but produced a friendly aura of homeliness. Jagged rooftops, each a different height, steadily leaked providing an bothersome issue for the house owners. Everyone had built their own houses; that's how it was around this village. Lives were taken into the owners hands, not left for others to pick up and be forced to make better. Hung by one thread, every door seemed like a good gust of wind would blow it down, they creaked when touched by a hand. Nevertheless, all these features made the place feel 
homely as soon as you passed through the gate, which was also old and rusted.
