George and Dream are still not together. Dream still has lingering feelings. They said not yet, maybe someday. But it's been more than two years since then. The two of them, along with Sapnap all live in the amazing Dream Team house like they've planned for forever.
A little less than three years since it was first released. The infamous Heatwaves. The fanfiction that almost everyone in their fandom has read, the fiction of what never happened.
They make jokes about it. All the time. Because, in honesty; Dream gets scared at how accurate the story was. Some of those conversations actually happened. Or something close to it. Conversations in the dark, snapchats of his hands, the nightmares.

George and Dream get to know each other, despite them both disliking each other. They later learn they have more in common then they thought. __ His breath was hitched, Dream's eyes were glossy. He'd never seen this much emotion from him. Dream pulled George into a light hug, George cringed at the touch. Dream immediately let go and mumbled a quick, "Sorry" then continued, "Sit down." Dream said in a raspy, quiet voice. Handing George the hoodie. George sniffed and walked over to the bed, wiping his nose.
