Being in love is tough enough, but being in love with a ghost is harder. Annie Hart is just your average eleventh grader but with one exception. She can see ghosts. This summer, Annie plans on sitting under a tree in her backyard reading book after book, escaping her ghostly problems, but her parents have other idea; her Aunt’s house, located in a small beach town. Annie has no choice but to pack her bags for the summer. But what was supposed to be a carefree summer soon takes a turn for the worst when she meets Ryan Sinclair, a local boy. When Ryan suddenly disappears, Annie is the only one who can find him because she’s the only one who can see him…because he’s dead. Annie tries ignoring him, but soon finds herself falling for his charm. But Ryan is the least of Annie’s ghostly troubles. He’s not the only dead person after Annie; there’s someone else, but they don’t want Annie to help them rest in peace; they want Annie to bring them back to life and will stop at nothing to get what they want, even if Annie must give up her life in the process. Annie soon finds herself wrapped up in the supernatural world that she spent her life trying to escape, and this time, there’s no turning back.
