Emma Jones is 21 years old and just finished college a year early. She plans to start her career as a secretary/receptionist in a small company that is near her house in southeast Georgia. She loves life and likes to have fun even though she is pretty shy and quiet normally. She has a few friends, no boyfriend, and a few hobbies on the side. She's a good girl who goes to church every Sunday. Her parents passed away when she was a teenager and she has one older sister who lives in Florida. Their parent's left them each a trust fund to help them get started in life, but Emma is trying to save that as much as she can. They are not really as close as Emma would like them to be, but they keep in touch. Max Thompson is 28 years old and works from home in the IT field. He is a loner with very few friends and no family left. He is single, but ready for a relationship. Max meets Emma one evening at a bar, but she blows him off. Max can't stop thinking about the cute young girl he met at the bar and after he gets her number from Emma's Facebook he eventually starts sending her texts proclaiming his feelings for her. Feelings he doesn't even understand because of the very brief interaction the two had. Emma has to figure out how to deal with Max and the feelings she doesn't want to have for the man while trying to get her career started and make friends at work.
